Suzanne Morphew's sister shares message of hope
Updated: 6 days ago
We just adore this picture of Suzanne Morphew shown here with her father Gene Moorman. For those who may not know, Suzanne was reported missing Mother's Day May 10, 2020 by her husband Barry. After nearly a year, Barry was arrested on May 5, 2021 for her murder in Salida, Colorado.
Suzanne's sister, Melinda Moorman, shared this photo with us. She said it was the last picture that Suzanne took with her dad (sometime in 2019), who passed away in November 2020 from cancer at age 87. A beautiful memorial for Gene was held May 22, 2021 in Anderson, Indiana -- attended by family and lots of long-time friends -- where the Moorman family lived for decades.
We were honored to have Melinda Moorman on our program. If you weren't able to see it, please click here to hear in her own words how Melinda remembers her baby sister, Suzanne. Melinda said that speaking for Suzanne is healing for her, so that justice may be served better for Suzanne. Melinda not only spoke eloquently of Suzanne and her spirit but she also shared a message of strength, hope and empowered for other women looking back at the situation Suzanne was in.
"There are many sisters out there that need to have this conversation with their sister or family member," Melinda said. "Suzanne was uneducated on the danger that she was in trying to leave a situation or change a situation without a lot of guidance and a good plan."
Thank you, Melinda, for your strength, your faith and your grace during this most unimaginable time for you and your family.
