One-year anniversary of the disappearance of Summer Wells, WJHL asks TIR to weigh in
Hard to believe but it's been one-year today (June 15) since 5-year-old Summer Wells was reported missing from her Tennessee home by her parents, Candus Bly and Don Wells.
In that time, the social media coverage of what happened to Summer has exploded. So much so that the authorities investigating the case were -- and may still be -- overloaded with bad tips, false leads and rumors which slowed their actual investigation.
So today, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) held a press conference marking the anniversary but released no new information in the case. Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson remains firm that nothing has been ruled out and everyone is still considered a suspect. Authorities are adamant that the case remains active and is not considered a cold case.
A reporter with the local TV station, WJHL-TV, interviewed Chris a day before the anniversary about the notoriety this case has garnered on social media platforms. See what Chris had to say here.
